BE LUNGWORM AWARE

Angiostrongylus vasorum Dogs can become infected with this life-threatening parasite if they eat infected slugs, snails or even frogs. Some dogs actually like to eat slugs and snails! But even if they don't do so on purpose they can easily do so by accident - e.g. when a slug or snail is sitting on a bone or a favourite toy. Eating grass or drinking from puddles may also be a threat as research has shown the slug or snail mucus trail may also transmit this infection. This is treatable by using a monthly spot-on application, Advocate, please call the surgery for more information.
