Repeat Prescriptions

We expect to check patients on long term medication every three to six months for prescription only medicines. Besides being a legal requirement, this is to ensure that there are no adverse reactions and that the dose rate and medication are appropriate.

If you require a repeat prescription for your pet, please give us 24 hours notice to authorise and prepare the medication.

It is often advisable to have blood tests for pets on long term medication.

For example, dogs and cats on longterm pain relief medications should have biochemistry parameters measured as they are genrally older patients. this is to help prevent any adverse reactions, and also help us to give you the most specific treatment for your pet.

Dogs and cats on thyroid medication should have anual measures of their levles as these may fluctuate , even with medication.

This is also true for pets on anti-convulsive therapies, or dome heart medication.

Prescriptions and Common Product Costs

Prescriptions are available from this practice.
